Tough, simple and dependable, with a can-do spirit
Few vehicles have ever captured the hearts of so many enthusiasts as the land rover defender classic. It was first produced in 1947, and it has been a fixture of British off-roading for the past 70 years.
It’s a tough, capable off-roader that can be used to conquer anything life throws at it. It’s a proper alternative to the Jeep Wrangler, Mercedes G-Class and Toyota Land Cruiser when it comes to serious off-roading.
Classic Defender DNA
It may have been out of production for a while, but there are still a few Defenders in existence. Among them, a few special edition models from the 1990s. These cars were built for the UK market, and they featured unique styling touches like a special paint job, SV badges and alloy wheels.
The Defender 90SV was available only for the British market, and it was based on a 200Tdi turbodiesel engine with a few extra features. Its distinctive looks were a big hit, and it sold well.
The Legend Lives On: Celebrating the Classic Land Rover Defender
The interior of the new Defender is very well done, and it retains a very authentic feel of a classic Defender. It’s upholstered in thick leather with contrast diamond-stitching, which gives it a classy look and feels very sturdy.
Tech features
The latest model offers a wide range of useful features, including a sat-nav system that shows you your surroundings. It also has a live rearview mirror that toggles between a reflection and a video, which is handy when you’re hauling gear or having to park somewhere without visibility.
